Wow! 5 out of 7 positions on the board are running without opposition. That means the membership is really satisfied with the organization or very apathetic about the process in general.IP: Logged |

Skip: Unfortunately, a chronic problem. I think Jimmy Padgett represented more than a minority opinion when he said that APA and APATHY have more in common than just a few letters. You know more than most of the hundreds of hours it takes to do a good job in office, and the small number of members who are willing to do it. I do not want to detract from the good members who have stepped forward and are campaigning for office, though. We owe them our respect for what they are trying to do, be they few or many. APA members: The Members section of the APA website now has the campaign statements of the members vying for office. The statements tell a little bit about the candidates, and what they want to accomplish if elected. Please take few minutes to read them to help you decide which of the candidates best represents your vision of what the Association should be. Many of the statements also include contact information if you want to bring an issue forward to the candidate. Don IP: Logged |
